A new website has been launched recently which basically covers the whole “make money online” concept. Basically its something like Yahoo Answers but more advanced, with badges , with different levels and other interesting features. Hello Dear Friends,

A security hole was found in the WordPress 2.8.3 version and all the previous versions. First of all, I’f you haven’t already updated to 2.8.4, you better do it NOW

The Problem

Basically in order to reset your WordPress password, you click on “Forgot Your Password” and you add your details (if you know them). Someone found a way to immediately reset the password without even adding any of the key values.

The code used to do this is:

http://www.domainname.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key[]=

You simply change the domainname.com with the one you want to reset and VOILA .. Check your email for confirmation
The Solution

There is already a solution provided officially by WordPress so all you have to do is update to the latest version (2.8.4)

Conclusion

This doesn’t hurt you at all, its more something which annoys you (because you wont be able to login with your old password) and all you have to do is login with the new password provided and change it back to your old password or a new more secure password

Alright fellow readers of my blog. I know you might be a little bit shocked from the title since it doesn’t have any relation with the niche I am actually writing (affiliate marketing , webmaster, blogging tips) but this is an interesting read and I am sure you gonna enjoy it.

The story began 6 months from now.I was getting some strange phone calls on my private mobile number but I couldn’t see the number as it was always masked (private call). Firstly I thought it must have been a joke from my friends but it was really weird because all the time i was hearing the same voice and the same words

“Hello”… “do you hear me?” … “Can I speak to Mike please?”… “Mike Hutchinson”

The last few calls I received, the number wasn’t masked so I found his number: 004951234567

Had some spare time and I googled the above number and I was blown away from the results I saw.

I was not alone, affected from the same mysterious call were and 40-50 other people from all the corners of the world.

I would highly recommend you to read THIS PAGE as it is filled with mysterious information, people complaining about 10-20 phone calls in each day and all of them from the same bot / maniac “The Mike VIRUS”

I didn’t get any phone calls for about 1 month until one day before… It was around 11:47 PM and my dad’s mobile rang .. He was sleeping so I quickly answered . . . the same message … again “The Mike Virus” but now from a different brand new number (as I googled it and I didnt get any revelant results)

The new number was: +518100127 and what it really amazed me even more was the fact that the previous number is a PRIME Number … so is this just by chance or something is going on?

Many innocent Adsense publishers have been banned for no reason at all. I have been banned for no reason at all from Google Adsense. Even though I wanted to hear their story, no reply to my emails, only automated emails which never ever delivered any important information.

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your AdSense account.

The same thing happened to Aaron Greenspan, owner of Think Computer Corporation. He received the same email as above and he lost approximately $721

He then emailed Google Adsense to ask for a reason but no reply from them, except an automated email as always.

So basically Google didn’t give a proper reason why Aaron was banned (and i think most of the banned publishers dont get a reason as well)

The judge, after hearing both both of the parties (The Google Representative and Aaron Greenspan) said

I don’t think I have the power here in Palo Alto small claims court to make you reinstate his account, but I think you owe this young man $721,” he said finally. “I think there might be money in Google’s treasury for that

Google Adsense wrote a check for Aaron for a total of $741 where $40 were gone for the court expenses.
