I believe its the right time to launch this contest. I have seen many MMO , SEO , Internet Marketing & other Entrepreneur blogs. Most of them are useless and just get dollars by writing paid reviews. I have been surfing across the blogosphere and I have been reading many useful posts which really deserve a prize or an awardOZ Blog of The Week Award

This is my first initiative and I will be selecting every week (on Sunday’s) the best blog of the week. I will be selecting it based on the following criteria

  • How frequently the blog is updated
  • How many informative posts can be found (not reviews or other stuff like that)
  • Number of comments for the most informative post
  • Writing style and format
  • Design & Functionality

What is the advantage of winning the OZ Blog of The Week Award ?

Many of you are definitely asking this question and here is what I have been thinking. Each week a blog will win the contest and get the award for the “Best Blog of The Week“. After each milestone of 10 or 50 blogs, there will be a POLL of your favorite blog and the best one will win the big award of Blog of The Blogs. There will be different prizes for each Blog of The Week winner which will vary from cash to different coupons for particular webmaster related sites online

So if you have a good blog and you think you can really deserve an award then kindly blog about this post and I will be able to check the trackback and review your blog

***Note that a blog that has won the OZ Blog of The Week Contest must include a post on his/her blog about the award otherwise he/she will not be eligible to enter in the Blog of The Blogs final contest and win prizes

How To Create a Favicon For Your Blog

Alright, this post will help you create a favicon (Favorite Icon) for your blog. In this way you will get yourself branded in all the blogosphere. It’s really an interesting way which will surely make you differ from many other blogs in your niche.

There are actually 2 different ways to create a favicon for your blog so I will be explaining both of them.

First Method – Automatic Favicon Creation

There are many sites out there which can automate all the process for you, just upload the image you would like and after literally 2 seconds you get a file which is your newly created favicon.ico

The following site is an example where you can upload and get your favicon in just 2 clicks

Second Method – Creating Your Favicon

If you have Adobe Photoshop everything will be much easier for you. First of all you will have to download a plugin needed to create .ICO files (icons) (Download Here). Open a 32 x 32 new page (or 64 x 64) and start designing your personal favicon. Use same color scheme as your blog and after you finish it save it as favicon.ico

Now all you have to do is upload it on your root via FTP and then refresh your blog and it must show up. If it doesn’t show anything then you have to add the following code in your header.php (normally after <head>)

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

Try to refresh your page and the favicon will be showing next to your URL in the browser. If you still don’t see it then just try to access your favicon immediately by clicking on http://www.yoursiteurl.com/favicon.ico

OlgiZenullari.com Just Got A Custom Unique Design!

Alright fellow readers, I had promised to some of you that I would get a new theme soon and here it is. I would firstly thank my personal designer (Atif) for the great work he has done and of course the coder, Doron of Coding Squad.

There might be some few changes but I believe this theme will be the official theme of OlgiZenullari.com for at least a couple of years.

Even though I haven’t been posting any articles on the last days I believe I have some strong personal excuses however what it really counts is the time and effort I will put into this blog. My main goal is to make this blog a useful informative source for many young entrepreneurs who really love making money online from the comfort of their homes.

I would also love some comments about this new design as well.

3 Easy Steps to a Successful Blog

We all want to have successful blogs. Success is different for every single blogger. Someone might be successful if he has 10000 readers, another one might be successful if he earns $1000. But all of us must follow some phases to make the blog a real success.

What Order Am I talking about !?

Im clearly talking about Content , Traffic & Monetization phases. These are the most important phases every blog undergoes and we must pay attention and work hard on each of them. Let me explain them one by one

  • Content

    • We all know unique content is king! Having a daily updated blog with useful information for our readers is much better than having a once per week updated blog with copied articles! I believe writing is a skill that not many of us have it (I think i don’t have it too) but when you write for something you know and you love, you seem like a professional writer to the world due to the information you share with everyone. Let’s take an example of my personal blog here. I have started it on 11 October and I have been writing almost everyday because I have to provide firstly useful content then work for the traffic. Imagine if I would only had 2 posts and start massively advertising my blog, its true that many people would visit my blog but they wouldn’t return back as they would see an empty blog without enough resources.So I strongly recommend you to work firstly hard writing unique content then focus on how to generate traffic for your blog

  • Traffic

    • There are many ways on how to drive traffic on your sites hence its not a problem at all as of course traffic will increase time after time. What really counts is the content at the point where you have started to advertise your site. Make sure you have a well-established blog with useful information which will take your readers at least a week to read all your articles! By having enough content you can generate easier traffic from different sources. For example I was posting on some webmaster forums and whenever someone was asking a question about something I had blogged, I was posting my blog post link and many interested visitors were reading the article. Again I repeat marketing of your blog must be done AFTER you have reached a minimum of 25 unique articles!

  • Monetization

    • We all know that by having unique content and traffic, Monetization is the easiest thing to do. Let’s consider you have a blog with 100 unique articles and more than 500 unique visitors per day. This means your posts are seen more than 500 times a day so adding some Adsense & Affiliate products will generate you some nice income (based on your traffic and content) I’m against monetization when you only have 2-3 articles and you start adding millions of advertisements! Of course you wont earn anything or even if you earn, you wont be satisfied and you will stop posting on your blog!

    So this post will help many bloggers to achieve their goals by following a simple order which I’m quite sure will pay off at the end of the long run. Don’t forget adding firstly unique content , then marketing what you have written and last but not least , making some decent cash!

    What If I dont know how to write or I dont have any skills at all ?

    I doubt there exists a person who doesn’t know anything at all. Everyone is equipped with a hidden skill, its just a matter of time when you discover it. When you do, it will be show time for you and you will be raking hundreds or even thousand of dollars. If you seriously don’t know anything then I strongly recommend you to start learning to do something as its really important now days having skills as Shoemoney says , to pay the bills!
